How the hold works
Held, not gone.
PHB uses an authorize → capture → release model. Your money is never moved until care is confirmed. A top-up can never be double-charged.

Add funds via Paystack or Monnify — cards, bank transfer or USSD. Your balance is instantly available.

Authorize hold
When you confirm a booking, PHB freezes the exact amount. The money does not move yet — it is simply reserved.

Care happens
You attend the appointment. The provider confirms the visit in PHB Connect.

Capture or release
Care confirmed → funds are captured and settled to the provider. No-show or cancellation → hold released, no charge.
Your receipts
Every payment, documented.
Every transaction produces a kobo-precise receipt — automatically linked to the care event in your record. Download as PDF, export as CSV, or request via USSD.
Receipts are linked to the transaction reference and stored with the same sovereign, append-only guarantee as your health record.
